Salt River Damselfly

What is shown on the photo?

This is a photo of a damselfly which we found near the Salt River near Mesa, Arizona. Per Wikipedia: Damselfly’s are similar to dragonflies, which constitute the other odonatan suborder, Anisoptera, but are smaller, have slimmer bodies, and most species fold the wings along the body when at rest, unlike dragonflies which hold the wings flat and away from the body. An ancient group, damselflies have existed since at least the Lower Permian, and are found on every continent except Antarctica.

When was this photo taken ?

This photograph was taken during the early morning, when the damselflies and other insects don’t move too much and you can easily compose your shot.
